Bengali Fish Recipe—-Parshe Fish Gravy.

Today I am Sharing a traditional fish gravy recipe of Parshe fish. It a popular dish and one of the best recipe of Parshe fish.The procedure is very simple and takes few minutes to prepare. It goes only with plain rice.

cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4

Ingredients—-

1.Parshe fish(large) -4

2.Eggplant – 1 (cut into pieces)

3.Mustard seeds – 4 tbsp.

4.Tomato – 1

5.Kalonji (kalojeera)–1/2 tsp.

6.Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.

7.Green chilly – 4.

8.Slit green chilly–6

9.Salt to taste.

10.Oil – 8 tbsp.

11. chopped coriander leaves –4 tbsp.

Instrutions –

Wash the fish well marinate with 1/4 tsp. of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder. Keep aside. Grind tomato into a pure set aside. Using 1/2 cup of water grind mustard seeds and 4 green chilly into a paste. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the fish till light brown on both sides. Fry 1 to 2 fishes at a time. Take out the fried fish from the oil, set aside.

Add kalonji in the remaining oil, fry for 30 seconds. Add the eggplant pieces fry for 2 minutes. Add turmeric powder,mustard seeds paste and 1/2 cup of water, saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add 2 cups of water and allow to boil. Add the fried fish, salt, tomato pure and slit green chilly. Mix gently. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes. When the gravy starts thickening add chopped coriander leaves. Remove pan from the heat ,cover and give 10minutes standing time.

Delicious Bengali Parshe fish gravy is ready, serve with hot Rice.
