A Spicy Side Dish With Baby Potatoes.

Today I am sharing with you a simple side dish recipe made with baby potatoes. It is a dry dish, spicy and very quick and easy to prepare. You need only few ingredients for making this awesome dish.It goes well with roti/chapathi/paratha.

Cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4.

Ingredients—-

1.Baby potato – 500 grams.

2.Tomato (large) – 1

3.Garlic cloves – 8 nos.

4.Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.

5.Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.

6. Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.

7.Salt to taste

8.Sugar – 1/4 tsp.

9.Oil – 50 grams.

Instructions –

Take the potatoes,peel the skins off and wash well. Cut them into pieces and again wash well. Transfer to a colander. Grind tomato and garlic into a paste. Heat oil in a frying pan—add the potato and fry for 5 minutes on slow flame. Take out from the pan,keep aside.

Add tomato-garlic paste in the remaining oil and saute for 1 minute.Add turmeric,chilly and cumin powders and 1/2 cup of water. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the fried potato,salt,sugar and 1/2 cup of water, saute on slow flame till oil separates. Add 1 cup of warm water,mix well and cover the pan. cook on slow flame until the potatoes are cooked well (stir in between).If needed add little warm water and keep cooking till all the water evaporates. The dish is ready —–serve hot.
