Bengali Non-Veg Dish—Garlic Pabda.

Today I am posting a delicious Pabda fish recipe—it is Garlic Pabda. It is a Bengali recipe, very quick and easy to prepare and with simple ingredients. If you had all the ingredients prepared it could be ready in 30 minutes. It goes only with plain Rice.

Cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4.

Ingredients—–

1.Fish – 400 grams.

2.Tomato – 1 (large)

3.Potato (optional) – 1 (peeled and sliced)

4.Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp.

5.Ginger paste – 1/4 tsp.

6.Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp.

7.Turmeri powder – 1/2 tsp.

8.Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.

9.Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp.

10.Salt to taste

11.Oil – 50 grams

12.Slit green chilly – 4.

Instructions——

Clean and wash the fish, marinate with 1/4 tsp.of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder. Set aside. Grind tomato into a pure.

Heat oil in a pan. Fry the fish till light brown on both sides. Fry 2 fishes at a time. Keep the fried fishes aside. Add cumin seeds in the remaining oil. When the cumin looks brown add potato. Fry for 2 minutes. Add ginger garlic, turmeric,chilly,cumin and 1/2 cup of water. Saute till oil separates. Add 2 cups of water, tomato pure, salt and slit green chilly. Cover the pan and allow to boil. Add the fried fish and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.When the gravy starts thickening remove pan from the heat. Cover and give 10 minutes standing time.

Delicious Garlic pabda is ready——-serve with warm Rice. Enjoy.
