Veg. Side Dish With Flat Beans/Seem – Posto.

Today I am sharing with you a simple side dish recipe made with Flat Beans and Poppy seeds. It is a Bengali recipe, non-spicy and nutritious also. You need only few ingredients to make this awesome dish. It can be served as a side dish with rice/roti or paratha.

Cooking time – 25 minutes. Serve – 4

Ingredients –

1.Flat beans – 250 grams.

2.Poppy seeds – 30 grams.

3.Nigella seeds – 1/2 tsp.

4.Green chilly – 2.

5.Slit green chilly- 4

6.Salt to taste.

7. Sugar – 1/2 tsp.

8. Oil – 2 tbsp.

9. Ghee – 1/2 tsp.(optional)

Instructions –

Clean and wash the beans, keep aside. Using 1/2 cup of water grind poppy seeds and 2 green chilly into a paste, keep aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan,add kalojeera and fry for 30 seconds. Add the flat beans, fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Add poppy seeds paste, sugar, salt, slit green chilly and 1 cup of water ,mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in between. Uncover the pan, mix ghee and keep cooking till all the water evaporates.

Tasty and healthy Bengali dish—Seem Posto is ready. Serve with rice/roti/paratha.
