Non Veg. Side Dish With Jute Leaves/Pat Shak/Healthy Dish

Today I am sharing with you a nutritious side dish recipe made with jute leaves. It is a traditional Bengali recipe, very quick and easy to prepare and with few ingredients. This healthy dish is perfect for summer and goes well with steamed rice.

Cooking time – 20 minutes. Serve – 4

Ingredients.

1.Jute leaves – 400 grams.

2.Dry red chilly – 1

3.Nigella seeds (kalojeera) – 1/2 tsp.

4.Salt to taste.

5.Sugar – a pinch.

6.Green chilly – 2 (chopped)

7.Oil – 1 tbsp.

Instructions –

Take the good leaves, wash and keep in a colander. Chop the leaves roughly. Heat oil in a frying pan, add dry red chilly and fry until brown. Add kalojeera, fry for 30 seconds. Add the chopped leaves, fry for 2 to 3 minutes on slow heat.Add salt, sugar, green chilly and 1 cup of water. Mix well and keep cooking till all the water evaporates. Stir in between.

The dish is ready. Serve the beautiful dish as a first item for lunch with Mustard Sauce (Kashundi).
