Cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4

Ingredients –

1.Fish – 4 pieces.

2.Tomato (large) – 1

3. Onion – 100 grams(chopped)

4. cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp.

5.Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp.

6.Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.

7.Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.

8.Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.

9. Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp.

10. Salt to taste

11.Oil – 100 grams (or less)

12. Whole garam masala—-(Cardamom -2, clove – 2,cinnamon- 1 /2 inch)

Instructions –

Clean and wash the fish with lukewarm water and marinate with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder, keep aside. Grind the tomato into a paste. To this add all the masala powders (turmeric,chilly,cumin,coriander) , ginger-garlic paste and 1/2 cup of water. Keep the masala mix aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan, fry the chopped onion till brown. Take out with a slotted spoon, keep aside. Now fry the fish in the remaining oil till light brown on both sides. Take out from oil, keep aside.

Add cumin seeds and whole garam masala in the remaining oil. When the cumin seeds turn brown add the masala mix and saute on low heat till oil separates. Add 1 large cup of water and salt—–let it brings to boil. Add the fried fish and onion, cover the pan and keep cooking till all the water evaporates (stir in between). Remove pan from the heat, give 10 minutes standing time before serving. Garnish with green chilly and serve. Enjoy.
