Bitter Gourd Leaves Pakora/Uchche(Karela) Patar Bora.

Hi Friends,

Today I am posting a simple Bengali snacks dish recipe made with Bitter gourd leaves. The dish is very tasty, very quick and easy to prepare and you need only few common ingredients to make this beautiful snacks dish. It goes well with steamed rice as a first item for lunch.

Cooking time – 15 minutes.  Serve – 4

Ingredients –

  1. Bitter gourd leaves – 1 bowl
  2. Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup.
  3. Corn flour/rice flour- 2 tbsp.
  4. Salt to taste.
  5. Sugar – a pinch.
  6. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
  7. Oil for frying.

Instructions –

Chop the leaves roughly and wash. Put them in a mixing bowl. To this add gram flour,corn flour,turmeric,salt and salt. Now sprinkle water, mix well and make a tight mixture. Heat oil in a frying pan,once it is hot reduce the heat. Take one tbsp.of mixture, flatten and drop into the hot oil. Drop 4 to 5 pakoras at a time. Fry on slow flame till they turn crispy and golden brown on both sides. Increase the heat, take out the fried pakoras with a slotted spoon and keep on paper towels. Again reduce the heat and start the next batch.

Tasty Bitter Gourd Leaves Pakora is ready, serve hot with steamed rice as a first item for lunch.
