Parshe Fish With Eggplant/Parshe Begun Recipe/Bengali Fish Recipe.

Today I am sharing with you Parshe Begun recipe. It is a wonderful dish and one of the best recipe of Parshe fish. It is a Bengali recipe and very quick and easy to prepare. You need only few ingredients to prepare this awesome fish dish. It goes well with steamed rice.

Cooking time – 30 minutes.  Serve – 4

Ingredients-

  1. Fish – 300 grams
  2. Eggplant (Begun)–1 (cut into pieces)
  3. Nigella seeds(kalojeera)- 1/2 tsp.
  4. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
  5. Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.
  6. Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.
  7. Salt to taste.
  8. Onion – 1(finely chopped)
  9. Grated ginger – 1/4 tsp
  10. Oil – 1/2 cup.
  11. Slit green chilly – 4

Wash and marinate the fish with 1/2 tsp.of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder. Heat oil, fry the fish till light brown on both sides. Take out from the pan,keep aside. Fry the eggplant pieces for 2 minutes. Take out from oil,keep aside. Add kalojeera in the remaining oil,fry for 30 seconds. Add onion and ginger, fry for 1 minute. Add turmeric,chilly  and cumin powders with 1/2 cup of water. Saute till oil separates. Add 3 cups of water, allow to boil. Add fried fish,eggplant,salt and slit green chilly. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. When the gravy starts thickening remove pan from the heat, cover and give few minutes standing time.

Delicious Parshe -Begun is ready, serve with steamed rice.
