Cutlet With Bombay Duck/Loitta Macher Cutlet/Easy Party Snacks.

Today I am sharing with you a beautiful snacks recipe made with Bombay Duck. It is a delicious cutlet recipe, very simple to prepare and you need few common ingredients.Bombay Duck is very cheap, so it is a budget friendly recipe. It can be served as a tea time snacks or as a great appetizer for a party.

 

Cooking time – 45 minutes.  Serve – 4

  1. Fish – 500 grams.
  2. Potato- 200 grams(boiled,peeled)
  3. Onion (large) – 1
  4. Garlic cloves- 6
  5. Grated ginger – 1 tbsp.
  6. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
  7. Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.
  8. Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp.
  9. Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.
  10. Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp.
  11. Salt to taste.
  12. Sugar – 1/4 tsp.
  13. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp.
  14. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
  15. Bread crumbs – 200 grama.
  16. Egg – 2 (beaten)
  17. Oil for deep frying.
  18. Hing (asafoetida) – a pinch (optional)

Instruction –

Discard the fins,heads and tails of the fishes. Wash the fishes. Boil 4 cups of water in a pan, add the fishes. Boil for 2 minutes, transfer to a colander. Discard the bones and squeeze out the water from the fishes. keep aside. Grind onion,garlic, ginger and hing into a paste.

Heat 2 tbsp.of oil, add the onion-garlic paste. saute for 2 minutes. Add chilly,cumin,coriander,turmeric powders and 1/2 cup of water. Saute till oil separates. Add the boiled fish,mix well.saute for 4 to 5 minutes. The fish will release water so no need to add water. Add salt and sugar. stir well. When the fish mixture becomes dry and starts to leave the sides of the pan, turn the heat off. Put the fish mixture in a large mixing bowl. to this add mashed potato, lemon juice,pepper powder and 2 tbsp.of bread crumbs. Mix all the ingredients properly and make a dry mixture. keep aside for 10 minutes.

Spread the bread crumbs in a dish. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Divide the fish mixture into balls and give the shape of cutlets. Heat oil in a frying pan, once it is hot reduce the heat. Take one cutlet, dip into the beaten egg and coat well with bread crumbs. Slowly drop into the hot oil and fry on slow flame until golden brown on both sides. Fry 2 to 3 cutlets at a time. Increase the heat,take out the fried cutlets with a slotted spoon,keep on paper towels. Again reduce the heat and start the next batch.

Delicious Bombay Duck Cutlet is ready , serve hot with mustard sauce(kasundi) or sauce.
