Prawn With Cottage Cheese/Chingri–Paneer Gravy

Hi Friends,

Today I am sharing with you a delicious side dish recipe made with paneer and chingri mach. It is an easy to make recipe and takes few minutes to prepare. It is a semi dry dish,looks beautiful and wonderful aromatic. It can goes well with pulao,fried rice or roti/paratha.

Shrimp-paneer-gravy

Cooking time – 25 minutes.  Serve – 4

Ingredients –

1.Prawn – 300 grams (cleaned and washed)

2.Paneer – 200 grams (cut into cubes)

3.Capsicum (large) – 1 (cut into squares)

4.Onion (large) – 1 (finely chopped)

5.Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp. Garlic paste – 1 tsp.

6.Tomato (large) – 1 (finely chopped)

7.Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.

8.Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.

9.Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.

10.Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp.

11.Salt to taste.  Sugar – 1/2 tsp.

12.Oil – 6 tbsp.

13.Slit green chilly – 4.

14.Ghee – 1 tsp. (optional)

Instructions –

1. Marinate the paneer with 1/4 tsp.of salt, keep aside. Rub the prawns with 1/2 tsp.of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder, keep aside until use. Heat oil and ghee in a frying pan, add the paneer cubes and fry very lightly on both sides. Take out from the pan,keep aside. Add prawns in the oil and fry for one minute on both sides. Take out the lightly fried prawns from oil, keep aside.

2.Add the chopped onion in the remaining oil and fry till light brown. Add tomato,ginger,garlic paste and saute for 1 minute. Add chilly-turmeric-cumin-coriander powders and 1/2 cup of water. Saute till oil separates. Add 2 cups of water,let it bring to boil.

3.Add prawns,paneer cubes,capsicum,slit green chilly,salt and sugar. Mix well. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or cook until the gravy is thickened.

Remove pan from the heat,cover and give 10 minutes standing time. Delicious Chingri-Paneer gravy is ready, serve hot.
