Famous Bengali Sweet Kachagolla Recipe

Happy New Year to all my Friends,
Today I am sharing with you a delicious sweet recipe made from Paneer (Cottage Cheese/Chana). It is a famous Bengali sweet. In Bengal it is called “Kachagolla”. The sweet is very tasty to eat, quick and easy to prepare and with few ingredients. I used ready made Paneer, You can use home made Paneer (moisture free Chana) also.

Cooking time – 20 minutes.  Serve – 4
Ingredients –
1.Paneer – 250 grams.
2.Sugar – 200 grams.
3.Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp.
Method –
Using grater grate paneer and transfer to a flat dish.  Knead the paneer with the heel of your  hand for 8 to 10 minutes. Combine paneer and sugar in a non stick frying pan. Mash well. Place the pan in slow heat. Stir continuously for 2 to 4 minutes. The sugar will melt and release moisture. Remove pan from heat quickly.(Don’t over cook the mixture,it will become hard). Add cardamom powder and stir the mixture continuously for 5 to 6 minute.
Let the mixture cool down.Take small portions and shape them into round balls. Garnish with raisins/nuts and serve as a dessert.
