Pointed Gourd (Parwal) Leaves Fritters/Palta Patar Pakora.

Hi Friends,
Today I am sharing with you a very simple Pakora recipe made with Parwal (Potol) leaves. It is a traditional Bengali recipe. In Bengal it is called Palta Patar Bora. It is an easy to make recipe and with few ingredients. The Pakora is very testy to eat and nutritious.

Cooking time – 20 minutes.  Serve – 4.
Ingredients –
1.Parwal leaves – 1 bunch.
2.Flour (Maida)  – 1/2 cup.
3.Rice flour or Corn flour – 1/2 cup.
4.Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
5.Salt to taste.
6.Sugar – a pinch(optional)
7.Oil for shallow frying.
Method –
1.Take the leaves from the stems and chop roughly. Wash the leaves, keep aside. Take a large bowl, add flour,rice flour, turmeric powder,salt and sugar. Add water little by little to make a thick paste. To this add the chopped leaves and mix well.
2.Heat oil in a non stick frying pan, when hot reduce the heat. Make balls of the paste and flatten. Drop the balls into the hot oil and fry till they turn brown on both sides (press gently). Fry 3 to 4 balls at a time. Take out the fried Pakoras from the pan and keep in paper towels.
Tasty and healthy Parwal Leaves Fritters is ready, serve as a first item for lunch.
