Veg.Snacks Made With Popped Rice (Khoi)

Today I am sharing with you a simple snacks recipe made with Popped Rice. It is a unique snacks recipe and very quick and easy to prepare and with few ingredients. The snack is tasty,crunchy and can be served as a tea time snacks.

Cooking time – 20 minutes.  Serve – 4

Ingredients –

Popped rice – 100 grams.

Corn flour – 2 tbsp.

Salt to taste.

Sugar – a pinch.

Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp.

Green chilly – 2 (finely chopped)

Chopped coriander leaves – 4 tbsp.

Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp.

Lime juice – 1 tsp.

Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp.

Oil for deep frying.

Instructions –

Using a grinder grind the popped rice into a powder. Transfer it to a bowl. To this add all the ingredients (except oil). Add very little water and mix well and make a dough. The dough should be dry/ tight. Cover the dough with a damp cloth,keep aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan. When it is hot reduce the heat. Knead the dough again and divide into small balls. Take one ball,flatten slightly and drop in the hot oil. Fry on slow flame until brown on both sides. Fry 3 to 4 balls at a time. Take out the fried balls from the oil,keep on paper towels.

Delicious Popped Rice snacks is ready, sprinkle pepper powder on top and serve hot with a cup of tea.
