Coriander Leaves Fritters/Cilantro Fritters/Dhonepatar Bora

Today I am sharing a simple snack recipe which is very popular in Bengal , it is coriander leaves fritters. It is a home-made snack, very tasty and very quick and easy to make. It goes well with steamed rice as a first item for lunch or as a tea time snacks.
Cilantro fritters
Cooking time – 20 minutes.   Serve – 4
Ingredients –
1.Chopped coriander leaves – 2 cups.
2.Maida (flour) – 1 cup.
3.Baking soda – a pinch.
4.Green chilly – 2 (chopped)
5.sugar – a pinch.
6.Salt to taste.
7.Nigella seeds/Kalojeera – 1/4 tsp.(Optional)
8.Turmeric powder – a pinch.
9.Oil – 1 tsp.(for the paste)
10. Oil for deep frying.
Method –
1.Take plain flour (maida) in a large bowl. Add turmeric,sugar,salt,baking soda,chilly,kalonji and 1 tsp. of oil. Mix well. Add water little by little to make a thick paste. Add chopped coriander leaves,mix well with hand.
2.Heat oil,when it is hot reduce the heat. Make balls of the paste and flatten. Drop the balls into the hot oil and fry on slow flame till the balls turns crispy and golden brown.Fry 3-4 balls at a time.
3.Remove the fried balls and drain excess oil with paper towels.
Coriander leaves fritters is ready. Serve as a tea time snack with tomato sauce/ketchup or as a side dish with rice and dal or with plain rice as a first item.
