Mixed Fruits Chutney Recipe.

Hi Friends,

Today I am sharing with you a mouth watering chutney recipe made with various fruits. It is a simple recipe and very quick and easy to prepare and with few ingredients. You can add any fruit you have in hand. This type of chutney is very popular all over India and can be served as a dessert or as a side dish with roti/luchi/paratha.

Cooking time – 15 minutes.   Serve – 4.

Ingredients –

1.Tomato – 1 (chopped finely)

2.Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.

3.Bay leaves – 2.

4.Red dry chilly – 1 (broken)

4.Salt – 1/4 tsp.

5.Sugar – 4 to 5 tbsp.

6.Oil – 1 tbsp.

7.Raisins – 2 tbsp.(soaked in water)

8.Dates (deseeded) – 4 (chopped)

9.Apple (chopped) – 2 tbsp.

10.Pears (chopped) – 2 tbsp.

11.Banana – 1 (chopped)

12.Pomegranate seeds – 4 tbsp.

13.Flour (maida) – 1 tbsp.

14.Panch foran – 1 tbsp.(optional)

Instructions –

1.Place Panch foran in a pan on slow heat. Stir continuously until the spices give out their distinct aromas (for 2 to 3 minutes). Then grind to a powder. Transfer to a small bowl,cover it and keep aside.

2.Heat oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is hot add dry red chilly and fry till light brown. Add mustard seeds.When crackling add bay leaves,chopped tomato and salt.Cover the pan. Cook till the tomato pieces are melted (stir in between). Add all the chopped fruits (except pomegranate) and stir for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add sugar and pomegranate seeds and cook till sugar dissolves. Dissolve maida in 4 tbsp.of water and add to the pan. Mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or till the chutney is thick in consistency. Remove pan from the heat, mix panch foran powder. Cover the pan and give 10 minutes standing time.

Delicious Mixed Fruits Chutney is ready, allow to cool at room temp. and serve at the end of meal.
