Cooking time –20 mins. Serve – 2
1.Red lentils – 1 cup.
2.Onion – 1(Finely chopped).
3.Ginger paste- 1/2 tspoon.
4.Garlic paste – 1/2 tspoon.
5.Tomato – 1(Finely chopped).
6.Sugar – 1/4 tspoon.
7.Green chilli- 4(Sliced).
8.Butter – 2 tabspoon.
9 Turmeric pwd – 1/4 tspoon and Salt to taste.
10.Chopped coriander leaves – 1 tabspoon(optional).
1.Clean and wash lentils and soak for 15 mins in normal water.After 15 mins drain the water and keep aside.
2.Heat butter in a pan,add onion and saute until brown.Reduce the heat, add tomato pieces,ginger-
garlic paste,turmeric pwd and saute for 5-6 mins.
3.Add lentils,sugar, salt and mix well. Cook it .for 3-4 mins,stirring constantly. ( If needed add little water)
4.Add 11/2 –2 cup of water and cook for 8-10 mins,stir 2-3 times in between.
5.Remove pan from heat.Add green chilli and coriander leaves. Cover the pan with lid and rest them for 10 mins.
This tasty lentils gravy goes well with hot chapatis or plain boiled rice.
